Low Ground Pressure Mulching
Treeclear UK provides low ground pressure mulching solutions using state of the art machinery designed specifically to work on sensitive sites. Our low ground pressure mulchers will reduce overgrown vegetation, woody scrub and trees down to ground level leaving a clean and tidy finish on completion.
Larger trees can be mechanically felled by the way of tree shearing. Tree shearing is the best method to safely fell trees in a fast and controlled manner, trees can easily be stacked in stockpiles ready to form habitat or for removal from the site.
If stumps are a problem, we can then perform ground smoothing, where we flip the stump over and grade out the surface to ‘smooth the ground’. Alternatively, if stumps are only a problem above ground, stump grinding removes the stump using a high-speed disc or stump augering will reduce the stump in a corkscrew type movement.
Habitat Creation
On certain peatland sites, specific areas can be mulched to ground level creating large open spaces. Leaving selected stands of young trees, scrub and heather helps create a varied and ideal habitat to encourage species such as nightjar and common European adder.
Total Vegetation Clearance
Environmental land clearance may also be required for total vegetation clearance of a site that needs to be brought back into good health. For instance, a designated SSSi that is drying out and the peat is deteriorating due to the lack of water it can retain.
Removing the trees and vegetation from a degrading site is the first step to its recovery, opening up the site for other restoration practices to take place.
Once clear of vegetation a site can be brought back to life by clearing ditches and creating dams, re-profiling exposed peat edges and forming cell bunds all helping to environmentally enhance a site for many years to come.
